Online dating..would u, have you?

they say "a good man is hard to find" especially here in indianapolis. So dating online, would you try it? would u consider it dangerous? any success stories you'd share?

Online dating..would u, have you?
yes and it has pros and cons just like dating in person. you just have to be more careful like meeting in public, take your own vehicle, and i always take a friend. i have had some really good ones and not really had a bad one yet. just remember online gives the other person the opportunity for dishonesty so just be careful
Reply:You know, There is good stories about online dating.. as well as Bad stories and I bet the percentage is about the same.

My neighbors are one of my best friends and they met over the net and they are the cutiest couple and marriade for some time now. I went to their wedding like a year ago cause they renewed it. So There is good things about it and there are bad. Cause you hear all the stories of people getting involved in relationships and getting hurt and rejected from online partners. Abuse and stockers and perves all over the net. So watch yourself.

It doesn't give you a pass to date online cause its all a risk you take!!

Just the thing is.. Are you willing to take that risk!
Reply:Haven't tried it yet but the pickings are pretty slim around here so I guess that's my next step. I think the sights where you have to pay like match.com or eharmony would probably be better 'cause the people are more likely to be serious if they have to pay for the service.

Take your time and get to know them via email and phone before you meet in person.
Reply:no way that is too wierd. no one really meets anyone anyway. the only ones that go one there is computer geeks
Reply:You would have to be desperate. Anti social or just plain gullible.
Reply:Sure, its worth the try. Just be sure to skip the people that don't have photos. They are usually fat and ugly.
Reply:yep

you can meet nice people online -- not everyone is in church or in a bar... it's an option and as always be safe.

let someone know where you are and with whom.

take a look at plentyoffish.com where you can talk about the situation with others before you make the leap.
Reply:iam actually doin oline dating right now but always ask them asl and tell them not to lie bout there age but yeah i would try it it is not dangerous
Reply:only complete losers go there
Reply:hmm...depends...i wouldnt
Reply:I tried it once. It's fun. It's cool because you don't have to worry so much about the whole club scene...you can feel free to be yourself.

Now, like with everything, there is a good and bad side. Some people take advantage (men and women alike) of the internet and misrepresent themselves but it's pretty obvious. No different than anything else you do.

If you decide to, keep your eyes open and have fun.
Reply:i did but make sure you get a current picture. I went out once with this girl who looked like she ate the girl in the picture she sent me. There is nothing worse than developing feelings online and then meeting and being totally let down. Side note: That was the fasteset date EVER!
Reply:We met randomly in chat in March of '03, married five months later and are very happy.

There are both happy and nightmarish relationships that began online.

There are both happy and nightmarish relationships that began at school.

There are both happy and nightmarish relationships that began in a bar.

There are both happy and nightmarish relationships that began at church.

There are both happy and nightmarish relationships that began at a speed-dating event.

There are both happy and nightmarish relationships that began at work.

Get the pattern?
Reply:I've met/dated some people I got to know online. I don't have any horror stories to tell - in fact, most of the people I have met online are quite nice!
Reply:no cuz i would probably never meet the person
Reply:none
Reply:I have. My bf that I plan on marrying met me online. It's really hard to keep up, I've had previous online relationships, because my social life is online, and I'm more comfortable here. I wouldn't trust just anyone, but I gave it a shot. And I don't regret it, no matter what anyone says.

Reply:Here is a place that reviews lots of dating websites. Many of the online dating services listed have consumer reviews, so you can read what others think of the different services before you decide on one for yourself. Pretty cool site.

Reply:I signed up for the one free dating site, and received tons of message right away. I picked one very good looking guy, and had email contacts, some phone conversations for a while, then decided to go to dinner with him. But I could not find him at the restaurant, but he found me. His picture was over 10 years old, or was that his pic?? He did not say anythinhg, so I was afraid to ask him. I did not want to be rude, but I made a few contacts after dinner, and that was all. This is my personal experience : )

Hope it was just me. Good luck!
Reply:I not only have had good luck with OkCupid but it's an intelligently run site with things that make you chuckle.

But honestly the best part of it is that it's absolutely free but is run the same if not better than most paysites.
Reply:forget online stuff

Online dating sites?

how many online dating sites should you sign up to increase your pontential market out there? and possibly you can afford?

Online dating sites?
3, the best ones are

http://www.intimateadults.com

http://www.123personals.com

http://www.web-personals.us
Reply:www.match.com also single.com
Reply:only 1

http://theclickinfo.com/philippinesdatin...
Reply:I recommend to register at one dating site. First of all you should look for a site where you feel comfortable. It is important that you know how a site works, many sites are not user friendly and if you register at different sites, you soon will be disappointed because of so many confusing functions they offer. My favorite is

http://datingwalk.com

DatingWalk is very user friendly, they have really put a lot of brain into it!

Further you should be sure that the site you choose is doing background checks to ensure that members are not felons; otherwise you will get frustrated by wasting your time communication with people who a not serious. If you have checked all such criteria, you should make a wise decision. I'm sure, if you register on the right site and concentrate on it, than your potential market will be the best, much greater than jumping around on different sites. If my experiences would be helpful for you, I found http://DatingWalk.com working for me.
Reply:I've only done 1 - www.match.com
Reply:I would sign up for as many as you can, look into the ones where women signup for free and maybe possibly into a few others that have deals like match.com that'll give you a few months free if you don't find someone.
Reply:They are dangerous as people sometimes take advantage of one circumstances or vulnerability.

Good luck Mitch
Reply:i use only one http://www.bidbuydate.com/dating_3173_Up... bcoz its free and excellent site !!!
Reply:they are all kool. And l will be willing to meet anyone that is ready to be a mate from this dating.
Reply:Well i think u only need one to actually find the person of ur dreams and all. But u can apply for others that r free and that u can see alot of differences from having alot of ppl viewing u and seeing if they are good enough for ya in the end.

Well good luck with everything :)
Reply:as a guy, I have never had much luck on these kind of sites but I keep trying...
Reply:Sign up for as many as you can, so you can increase the number of people you can choose from. There is a list of dating sites at http://www.webdatingguide.com
Reply:Just one, OKCupid. It's free and there's lots of people on it. I wouldn't spend money on online dating.

Online dating...it seems like most guys do it to just to get some.?

I tried online dating for some time and have come to the conclusion that the majority of guys do it to "get some". Has anyone actually had a serious relationship come out of it? Or are there certain sites that are better?

Online dating...it seems like most guys do it to just to get some.?
u are correct...its just a easy way to get some...profiles say one thing , but they are only interested in sex
Reply:Isn' t this the same reason men ask women out they meet on the street, just to get laid? It's not the internet, it's just human nature. Report It

Reply:I agree that the majority hope to 'get some' but there are some legitimate ones too. I've been seeing one man since October who takes me to nice places, brings flowers to my office, and treats me like a queen. There has been no sex involved. He wasn't even a subscriber but found me on there, liked me and searched for me. very flattering. I've also met many others where sex was not the main issue -and many where it was.

Some say you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find the prince.
Reply:Most things that guys do is to just get some whether it is online dating or blind dates or the bars.
Reply:you have to be oh so careful when dating on-line..there are some real creeps out there.i have never even been to a chat room but, have heard all sorts of bad things about the people that others have met.
Reply:And your point is? Another men bashing segment eh? Well I have you know that I have 3 friends who met their wives on the net and have all been married now more than ten years. If you have really tried it for some time you should have found a boyfriend by now dont you think? Or are you one of those who want it all and then maybe marriage? Good grief..If a woman is gonna give it most men will take it. I know some women who actually enjoy sex themselves. Imagine that.
Reply:its really if your chemistry work
Reply:I found my husband online-- when it wasn't cool to do so. I don't know how the percentages play out but it can happen. I also know of a lot of people out for some. *shrugs* 6 of one, half dozen of the other, I guess.
Reply:i dating a guy for a couple months online, i may just have bad luck, but, he cheated on me with 10 girls.
Reply:it s only for sex st rave

Online dating?? Would it be desperate......I live in atlanta?

My co-worker thinks I should try this. I never have, im a 25 year old female living in ATL. My last relationship was about 8 months ago. I am nervous to do this....I guess I feel i will look desperate. But she says its only an alternative. What is your experience with online dating? And were you nervous to do it???

Online dating?? Would it be desperate......I live in atlanta?
my experience with online dating has been nothing but great and i would recommend it in a heart beat. i have met great people online some of which i am still friends with. my current boyfriend i met through a friend that i met online. its a great network of people. and no its not desperate at all. what makes meeting people at bars, clubs, work, or through mutual friends, etc...ok and online desperate.

have fun and good luck!
Reply:i dont think online dating is the right place to go...

and you can pretty much not find anyone for you on there...

i no cause my dad uses 4 dating websites...

and all the women hes talked to on there were crazy...

my dad has started calling himself a looser magnet!
Reply:I feel that online dating is somewhat desperate-it reminds me of a blind date.

Although I have not used the internet to find someone, my fiance has(in the past)-it's ironic that he found love meeting me in person.

-If you don't have to, why do it? You've got time to find that special someone.Good luck!
Reply:If it works, does it matter if it's online? It doesn't mean you're desparate, it just means you want to look for new people. Just look. No one has to know, and who knows? maybe it will work!
Reply:There are so many ways to connect without seeing eachother face to face. Email, IM, messaging, phone... The thing is, if you can still love eachother without personally knowing eachother, once you do meet it will be a breathtaking experience.

all my experiences have been good.
Reply:No, it would definately not be desperate. I moved overseas and knew NOONE so the easiest thing for me to do was try online dating. To be honest, not really had any fantastic datesbut LOOADS of people I know have and sometime its worked and sometimes it hasnt. We live in cash rich time poor society where its not so easy to meet people hence the explosion in online dating. Try it and you might meet someone amazing, even if you have to wade through a few bad dates to meet them. I have adopted the rather disgusting philosophy of"Throw enough $hit at a wall and some of its bound to stick". Feel free to adopt it also.
Reply:go for it and good luck
Reply:holla at your boy!(man)
Reply:met my girlfriend on match.com about a month ago and i havent regreted since
Reply:I married a man I met online... we have been together almost 3 years now and have a 6month old son. I didn't pay for a dating site, we met on facethejury.com totally by accident. Make sure you always meet someone from the internet with 1) Lots of friends with you, and/or 2) in a very public area.. I met my husband in a mall. I trust, but not THAT much
Reply:I have met a couple of really cool people online actually. I tried it out middle of June. It depends on which site you go on. It doesn't mean your desperate, sometimes its hard to meet people. Maybe when you are less nervous you should try it out. I understand your fears but maybe you're just not ready. I was nervous a little but you don't have to rush and meet these people. Do the e mail, then phone and if you are still vibing meet in a well lit public place..
Reply:It's the 21st century, it's how people meet nowdays.

Not a big thing.

It's no different from meeting someone in a bar, online is just an introduction, the rest is up to you.

Reply:Be yourself, be honest, post recent pictures, two or three is good, dont give a life history, but tell who you are, what you like and what you are looking for. Your subject line should be short and attention getting without being suggestive (unless of course that is what you want). Think of the sort of date you want to attract. A good online dating site will match like responses, lets you stay anonymous until you choose not to be, will never be free. A bad one matches you with any living breeathing person, whether they match what you want or not.
Reply:I am not being a jerk....but forget online dating get out there and meet new people in person. The net is a friggen sewer.

#4 What is important about you, why are you different from everyone else?

#5 I like E-Harmony or one that screens personality types and matches accordingly. A sight that people can't just plug in an age and everyone comes up. You don't want to be viewed by EVERYONE.
Reply:What a nicely organized list.

The only advice I can give you regarding online dating is...BE CAREFUL!!!!!!

Online, people can appear any way they want. You never know what kind of person they really are.
Reply:Make your picture a face shot, or doing something you enjoy.

Your subject line should be something clever or funny, there is a lot of guys out there looking. Be honest in your profile and leave a woman wanting more info. Example more details available..remember if the mind is stimulated then you gain insight faster. Good Luck
Reply:Online dating is gay....therefore ur gay!
