Online dating..would u, have you?

they say "a good man is hard to find" especially here in indianapolis. So dating online, would you try it? would u consider it dangerous? any success stories you'd share?

Online dating..would u, have you?
yes and it has pros and cons just like dating in person. you just have to be more careful like meeting in public, take your own vehicle, and i always take a friend. i have had some really good ones and not really had a bad one yet. just remember online gives the other person the opportunity for dishonesty so just be careful
Reply:You know, There is good stories about online dating.. as well as Bad stories and I bet the percentage is about the same.

My neighbors are one of my best friends and they met over the net and they are the cutiest couple and marriade for some time now. I went to their wedding like a year ago cause they renewed it. So There is good things about it and there are bad. Cause you hear all the stories of people getting involved in relationships and getting hurt and rejected from online partners. Abuse and stockers and perves all over the net. So watch yourself.

It doesn't give you a pass to date online cause its all a risk you take!!

Just the thing is.. Are you willing to take that risk!
Reply:Haven't tried it yet but the pickings are pretty slim around here so I guess that's my next step. I think the sights where you have to pay like match.com or eharmony would probably be better 'cause the people are more likely to be serious if they have to pay for the service.

Take your time and get to know them via email and phone before you meet in person.
Reply:no way that is too wierd. no one really meets anyone anyway. the only ones that go one there is computer geeks
Reply:You would have to be desperate. Anti social or just plain gullible.
Reply:Sure, its worth the try. Just be sure to skip the people that don't have photos. They are usually fat and ugly.
Reply:yep

you can meet nice people online -- not everyone is in church or in a bar... it's an option and as always be safe.

let someone know where you are and with whom.

take a look at plentyoffish.com where you can talk about the situation with others before you make the leap.
Reply:iam actually doin oline dating right now but always ask them asl and tell them not to lie bout there age but yeah i would try it it is not dangerous
Reply:only complete losers go there
Reply:hmm...depends...i wouldnt
Reply:I tried it once. It's fun. It's cool because you don't have to worry so much about the whole club scene...you can feel free to be yourself.

Now, like with everything, there is a good and bad side. Some people take advantage (men and women alike) of the internet and misrepresent themselves but it's pretty obvious. No different than anything else you do.

If you decide to, keep your eyes open and have fun.
Reply:i did but make sure you get a current picture. I went out once with this girl who looked like she ate the girl in the picture she sent me. There is nothing worse than developing feelings online and then meeting and being totally let down. Side note: That was the fasteset date EVER!
Reply:We met randomly in chat in March of '03, married five months later and are very happy.

There are both happy and nightmarish relationships that began online.

Get the pattern?
Reply:I've met/dated some people I got to know online. I don't have any horror stories to tell - in fact, most of the people I have met online are quite nice!
Reply:no cuz i would probably never meet the person
Reply:none
Reply:I have. My bf that I plan on marrying met me online. It's really hard to keep up, I've had previous online relationships, because my social life is online, and I'm more comfortable here. I wouldn't trust just anyone, but I gave it a shot. And I don't regret it, no matter what anyone says.
