Online dating or is it just another fantasy game?

i'm curious. does anyone out there have this online dating thing without exchanging pictures,do the webcam or seeing each other? yet still maintain the relationship with emails and chating. let alone of second life or there.com because i'm talking about someone we meet in chatroom here.


my best friend is doing this quite a long time now and she still manage to get on with it. is that possible to date someone virtually without the desire of knowing their real looks or is it just another fantasy game play by 2 willing people? and i bet this 2 people are telling the perfect lies of their real world. i appretiate good comments.

no pictures exchanged and no move to meet IRL? this is pure fantasy and probably some virtual cheating on one or both parts. I met my wife on match.com - we e-mail back and forth for maybe a week before deciding to meet in person. On the other hand waaaaaaay back in the day (ie long before I metmy sweet wife) I got on yahoo chat pretending to be a bi-girl and cruised ladies (or other guys pretending just like me) who did not want to chat with guys - those escapades went exactly as you are describing.

Reply:I just feel like its hard enough to find a decent person to date in real life situations, so I'm not really optimistic about meeting people online. I mean obviously there are a lot of sane and decent people out there like yourself wondering and looking for the same thing. Reply:online dating works only if you have used it correctly. My friend Chuck has found a lover at a dating site called millionairecupid.com last year. He told me the dating tips on that site have helped him a lot. Now I'm there too. I think I will have the same luck at this club.

Reply:people who date online usually talk for a while then agree to meet in person. I've met quite a few people online before, some turned out to be losers, but then I met my husband, and we met online! So sometimes it can work out, as long as you're safe about it. I've never heard of people dating JUST online, they usually meet in person after a while.
Reply:fantasy...internet love is not going to work, u really need to get to know someone and u cant just through the net...plus there are many creeps on here...cant trust them. and i wouldnt be so sure this guys is being faithful to u, probably just telling you what u want to hear...
Reply:i think that on line dating is a fantasy. and i think that there are many other ways to meet someone but on the other hand i think that this could be very safe or unsafe. but at least if you are not interested that you could stop talking and don't have to worry about a stalker.
