I joined an online dating service at the end of the first period they were to automatically withdrawl money from my account for the next 3 months of service. I sent a certified letter cancelling my subscrition. Two days later they electronically deposited money into my account. They had not withdrawn any for the service yet so I believe this was a mistake on their part. Do I have to contact them about this error? For how long can they comeback and just take this back out of my account? I do not believe they were refunding my original payment as I used the service for three months.
An online dating service deposited money into my account?
Try doing something which is ignored in todays society. Do what is right and tell the conpany they made a mistake. If you were on their side , wouldn't you want someone to tell you?
Reply:I would contact your bank first and let them know that this deposit was an error and that you wish to "officially" re-send this money to the Dating Service.
The bank has some paperwork that needs to be filled out and signed by you in order for them to take care of it. Once you get this done, then you can call the Dating Customer Service and let them know what you did and you can also fax them the copy of the form that you signed from the bank.
You wouldn't want them later to take this money from your account and with added fees.
Good Luck.
