For a online dating couple, how many dates usually before it's considered "exclusive"?

I know this is a generic question, but this was my first online dating experience and I am not sure what to expect. We have been out 5 or 6x now and I am wondering how long should I let it go before I ask us to be exclusive. What are your generally ideas, feelings on this? Thank you.

it depend on the couple ususally the concept of "exclusive" dating isn't decided by a number of dates he may not be looking for an exclusive relationship and apparently thats something that needs to be discussed you need to make sure you both want the same thing before you end up wasting unneccesary time so find out what he's looking for and see if that coincides with what you want and go from there but if its something you're thinking about your best bet is to ask Best Wishes ;-)
Reply:i think it totally depends on the situation...but treat it like any other relationship (provided you've actually met in person). If it feels right then ask!
Reply:my boyfriend and i met online and talked for a while and went out for 2 months. i am an old fashion women who still wants the man to ask me to be his girlfriend.and he did, we have been together for 4 years. when you are ready and know that your feelings and her's are the same then go for it.do not rush into anything, but don't wait forever to talk to her about being in a relationship with you.
Reply:Just a word of warning: If you start discussing the "exclusive" thing you may get hurt. I know a few men who got suspicious and searched around, and whoops: There she is with a brand new picture on her dating profile getting hundreds of messages.
