Is online dating shameful?

What do you think? Is there a stigma attached to online dating for people who are in their twenties? I am thinking about trying it, but don't want my friends to think less of me.

Is online dating shameful?
Meeting someone online is the new way to meet others these days. Especially for people in their 20's. No it's not shameful. It is how I met my fiance. We were friends first for a few years, then we took our friendship to the next level. It all depends on where and who your looking for. There's so many different chat rooms, dating sites and what not. I met my fiance in a chat room on PalTalk. I never would have tried any dating sites cause I wasn't actually looking for someone. Whether your looking for friendship first, then a relationship, it's all up to you. No one can decide where and who to look for. Hope ya find the one your looking for!
Reply:At first it was, but i think so many people do it now, that it is okay! Good luck.
Reply:Not at all. I met my wife on Match.com.
Reply:no you can meet your sole mate
Reply:A lot of people in their twenties are doing it. I met my boyfriend online and I'm 24. I find the only people opposed to it are paranoid religious people who think the only people online are perverts and homicidal maniacs so you don't have to worry about their opinion anyway as it is uneducated and unfounded and based more on their emotion and desire to control other people's lives. In todays world online dating makes more sense and you are more likely to find the right one online than you are to find the right one in every day life. Things work faster too because with most of the good dating sites you know the basics about a person before you go out with them, you know kinda what to expect and it isn't so much the daunting blind date. It's exciting to. I think it's the best way to date.
