When people say on online dating "please be d%26amp;d free" (drug and disease), are they talking about all drugs, including natural drugs like weed and shrooms that do not directly contribute to the spread of STDs and HIV, or harder drugs that involve needles and thus increase a person's chance of getting a disease? Does it differ from person to person?
Online dating term "d%26amp;d free"?
It would probably differ between people, but most all would mean the harder drugs that are linked to unhealthy living and the spread of diseases.
But some people, as a life style choice, dont want to be around drugs in any way; so might would list that to cover everything.
Reply:Most people probably mean all drugs because our education system (D.A.R.E.) teaches the general public that every drug is just as dangerous as the next (marijuana is just as bad as heroine, haha). In my experince, most people are ignorant when it comes to illegal drugs, but they'll usually have no problem if you drink alcohol in a responsible manner (God only knows why this is the case considering alcohol kills about 25 times more people than all illegal drugs combined and considering that the Lancet (medical journal) ranked alcohol 5 on the list of most dangerous drugs and weed all the way at 14).
So yes, I think most people mean all drugs. They fear that kind of lifestyle - not that it need be much different from a non-drug user's lifestyle.
